Description
This recipe for air fryer haddock features a simple breading process using a seasoned flour coating, egg wash, and crispy cornflake crumbs. The fish is sprayed with olive oil and air fried at 400°F for 10-11 minutes total, resulting in a delightfully crispy exterior and tender, flaky interior. Lemon wedges and tartar sauce are offered as optional accompaniments.
Ingredients
- 4 haddock filets
- 2 cups corn flake crumbs (or panko breadcrumbs)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Olive oil spray
- Lemon wedges (optional)
- Tartar sauce (optional)
Instructions
- Mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper together in a small bowl to create your seasoning mixture.
- Prepare your coating station by arranging three separate bowls: seasoned flour mixture, beaten eggs, and corn flake crumbs.
- Take your haddock filets and pat them dry. Dip each piece in the flour mixture first, followed by the egg wash, and finish with a coating of corn flake crumbs.
- The air fryer basket needs a light coating of oil spray. Place the coated filets inside without overlapping them. Spray the tops of the filets with olive oil spray.
- Set the temperature to 400°F for 6 minutes. After that, flip the filets and spray them again with oil. Continue cooking for another 4-5 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 145°F.
The finished haddock will have a golden-brown crust that’s perfectly crispy, while the inside stays tender and flaky.
