Transform fresh barramundi filets into a delectable main course with this straightforward grilling recipe. The combination of citrus, herbs, and butter creates a harmonious blend that enhances the fish’s natural flavors without overpowering its delicate taste.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 barramundi filets (approximately 13 ounces total)
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce: In a bowl, combine melted butter, lemon juice, minced garlic, chopped parsley, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat the Grill: Preheat your grill to high (450°F), then reduce to medium (325°F) when ready to cook.
  3. Prepare the Fish:
    • Pat the filets dry with paper towels
    • Brush both sides with olive oil
    • Season with salt and pepper
  4. Grill the Fish:
    • Place filets skin-side down on the grill
    • Cook for 7½ minutes on each side
    • Fish is done when it easily flakes with a fork
  5. Finish and Serve: Remove from grill and drizzle with the prepared lemon butter sauce.

  • Watch for flare-ups, especially when first placing the fish
  • The internal temperature should reach 145°F for food safety
