Description

Want to make a tasty meal with crispy fried fish and perfect rice? This dish takes just 30 minutes to prepare and makes an ideal weeknight dinner.

Basic ingredients become a complete meal with tender fish, fluffy rice, and fresh vegetables in one pan. The recipe adapts well to any white fish filets and you can adjust it based on your priorities.

Ingredients

  • White fish filets (cod, tilapia, or sea bass)
  • Cornstarch for coating
  • Salt and ground black pepper
  • Jasmine or basmati rice
  • Vegetables (carrots, bell peppers, onion)
  • Garlic cloves
  • Soy sauce
  • Vegetable oil
  • Spring onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fish: Cut fish into bite-sized pieces and season with salt and pepper. Mix cornstarch with water to create a coating mixture.
  2. Cook the Rice: Wash your rice and cook it with the right amount of water until fluffy. The process takes about 15-20 minutes.
  3. Fry the Fish: Heat oil in a large pan. Fry the coated fish pieces until golden brown and crispy for 5-6 minutes on each side.
  4. Combine Components: Sauté garlic and vegetables in the same pan. Add the cooked rice and mix in the fried fish.

Notes

Fish Selection: Both fresh and frozen fish work great in this recipe

Rice Choice: Long-grain rice works best because it keeps its shape without getting sticky

The fish should flake easily when tested with a fork
