Description

Simple pantry ingredients reshape the scene into an elegant Italian seafood dish that takes less than 30 minutes to prepare. This classic shrimp linguine combines succulent shrimp with perfectly cooked pasta in a light, flavorful sauce that gets its taste from garlic, lemon, and fresh herbs.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound linguine pasta
  • 2 pounds large uncooked shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 6 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/3 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook linguine according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
  2. Heat butter and olive oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat.
  3. Add minced garlic to the pan and sauté for about 15 seconds. The garlic should not burn.
  4. Place shrimp in the pan and cook until pink, about 3 minutes on each side.
  5. Season with salt and red pepper flakes, then add lemon juice. Let the mixture simmer.
  6. Mix the cooked pasta with the shrimp mixture. Toss everything together and add reserved pasta water if needed.
  7. Add fresh parsley and Parmesan cheese as garnish before serving.

Notes

  • Save 1/2 cup pasta’s water before draining to adjust sauce consistency
  • Add 1/4 cup white wine during step 4 to boost flavor
  • Try adding spinach or cherry tomatoes for extra vegetables
  • Keep leftovers in an airtight container for freshness
