Description
This air fryer cod recipe utilizes a simple seasoning blend of paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, along with a light brushing of olive oil and lemon juice, to create a deliciously crispy exterior while keeping the interior flaky and moist. The cod fillets are arranged in a single layer in the preheated 350°F air fryer and cooked for 8-10 minutes, until reaching an internal temperature of 145°F. Lemon slices are served as a fresh garnish.
Ingredients
- 1 pound cod filets
- 1½ teaspoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice (fresh or bottled)
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ⅛ teaspoon black pepper
- Lemon slices to serve
Instructions
- Your cod filets need to be patted dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F.
- A mixture of olive oil and lemon juice should be prepared in a small bowl. This mixture needs to be brushed on both sides of the filets. The remaining oil will help lightly coat the air fryer basket.
- The spice mixture combines paprika, salt, garlic powder, and pepper in a separate bowl. Both sides of the cod filets should be seasoned with these spices.
- The seasoned cod should be placed in your air fryer basket without overlapping the pieces.
- The cooking time is 8-10 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 145°F. A fork should easily flake the fish when it’s done.
- Your crispy cod tastes best when served immediately with fresh lemon slices to enhance flavor and texture.
Thicker cod loins may require an additional 2-3 minutes of cooking time. Note that checking the internal temperature ensures the fish is fully cooked.
