Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon filets (68 ounces each)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon filets dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Place salmon in the pan flesh-side down and sear for 3 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Flip the salmon and cook for another 3 minutes on the other side.
  5. Accordingly, add the sauce ingredients to the pan and reduce heat to medium-low.
  6. Cover and cook for 8-12 minutes until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
  7. Thereafter, transfer salmon to serving plates and reduce the sauce until it thickens.

Notes

– The internal temperature should reach 145°F for food safety
– Cooking time may vary based on the thickness of your filets
– Otherwise, you can substitute apple juice for mirin if unavailable
– Besides fresh herbs, you can garnish with sesame seeds for added texture
