Description

This delightful baked grouper recipe combines simplicity with incredible flavor, making it perfect for both weeknight dinners and special occasions. Indeed, with just a handful of ingredients and straightforward preparation, you’ll create a restaurant-quality dish that’s both healthy and satisfying.

This Mediterranean-style baked grouper features a perfect balance of flavors, with fresh lemon, garlic, and carefully selected seasonings that enhance the fish’s natural taste without overpowering it. The recipe yields tender, flaky filets that are moist and full of flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 pounds grouper filets (about 1-inch thick)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 23 cloves fresh minced garlic
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Optional garnishes: fresh herbs, lemon wedges

Instructions

  1. Initially, preheat your oven to 400°F
  2. Meanwhile, prepare your grouper:
    • Rinse filets under cold water
    • Pat them completely dry with paper towels
    • Season both sides with salt and pepper
  3. Place the filets in your prepared baking dish
  4. In a small bowl, combine:
    • Minced garlic
    • Lemon juice
    • Olive oil
  5. Pour the mixture evenly over the filets
  6. Place the baking dish on the middle rack of your preheated oven
  7. Bake for 12-13 minutes, or until the fish turns opaque and flakes easily

Notes

– For optimal results, ensure your filets are approximately the same thickness for even cooking
– The fish is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 145°F at its thickest part
– If using frozen filets, thaw them completely in the refrigerator overnight
– Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days
